CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
Grades 1 – 6
In grades 1 – 6 we strive to build a faith community through fellowship, prayer, service, the arts, visual depictions and song. Our students learn to appreciate God as Father and Creator of all good, learn stories of Jesus and his teachings, grow in discipleship, appreciate Mary the mother of the church, the saints, and become closer to Jesus through the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist.
Each week, classes will follow along with the weekly scripture readings read at Mass, in age appropriate language. In this way, weekly Mass will be connected to classroom teaching and discussion for a deeper meaning and understanding of the gospel. We will connect the weekly scripture readings to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and each year will build upon the last.
