The slide show you see below and on the home page has been compiled of pictures our Fourth Grade students drew in class of their impression of what Jesus looks like. We were reading a chapter in our textbook about who Jesus is--both man and God--and there were some artists' depictions of Jesus represented. Now you see our Fourth-Grade artists! Perhaps some of them will someday take their place next to Leonardo Da Vinci!
Grades 1 – 6
In grades 1 – 6 we strive to build a faith community through fellowship, prayer, service, the arts, visual depictions and song. Our students learn to appreciate God as Father and Creator of all good, learn stories of Jesus and his teachings, grow in discipleship, appreciate Mary the mother of the church, the saints, and become closer to Jesus through the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist.
Each week, classes will follow along with the weekly scripture readings read at Mass, in age appropriate language. In this way, weekly Mass will be connected to classroom teaching and discussion for a deeper meaning and understanding of the gospel. We will connect the weekly scripture readings to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and each year will build upon the last. Prayers are listed as well, so that you may continue to support the practice of prayer in the home. Specifically, general grade level curriculum topics are as listed below.
